Educational Games for Kids, Homeschool kids get to do the fun things... and call it school!

I love educational games. As my boys get older, it gets more difficult to get everyone together to play... but I LOVE it when we can all site down together and play a good game. I make it a habit to purchase a new game for the family each year. Here is a list of what we have in our cupboard.

There are so many math games for kids I've created a separate page just for cool math games.

SET: The Family Game of Visual Perception Set Enterprises Inc / 1991 The winner of this game will find the most sets. These area sets of three cards that match color, number, shape, and shading. Or a set of three where none of them match! Part of the game is watching for similarities AND differences... at the same time! Be fast and name the set before someone else does and steals the win from you. This game requires quick visual perception, thinking and reaction skills. It's a fun way to develop better concentration and perception. I purchased this game for our family on Christmas. I have one son who is a visual learner. I thought he especially would excel at this game... and he is good at it. However little did I know that my other son must have amazing visual perception... he blew us all out of the water! Try it your kids just might surprise you too. Of course he absolutely loves this game. :0)

I'd also love to hear about games that you have played with your kids. And you honestly almost all games are educational so even if you don't think of it as a math game or a spelling game. Post it anyway. Games require critical thinking, teamwork, playing nice!
