Traditional Homeschooling Programs

Seton provides a distinctly Catholic Christian homeschooling curriculum. Seton Educational Media offers homeschool curriculum for independent homeschool families. Seton Home Study School offers the same curricula with enrollment in a fully accredited K-12 distance learning program.

On the Seton homeschooling website they list this quote from Pop John Paull II.

Parents are the first and the most important educators of their own children, and they also possess a fundamental competence in this area; they are educators because they are parents.

This is the basis of Setons Homeschool philosophy.

In 1975, Dr. Anne Carroll founded Seton Junior and Senior High School in Manassas, Virginia. Families from other parts of the country began sending their children to Manassas to attend Seton. The y soon realized that families could be well served by a homeschooling option. In 1980 the Seton Home Study School was founded.

Seton Home Study School has grown to serve an enrollment of approximately 10,000 students.

The organization offers homeschool counseling. They provide, homeschooling resources for grades K-12, testing services, books, software, videos, online testing, online audio lectures, and other educational materials specifically aimed for Catholic homeschooling.

Online course pages have been set up with supplemental materials for most highschool level courses. These include audio lectures, the opportunity to take tests online and submit for immediate feedback, chapter notes and science labs.

Parent resources are also available. Print out lesson plans, see answer keys and submit grades for your student.

Seton Home Study School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) which is a member of AdvancED.
